Premium hours can overlap. If the same hour is entered as night, late or Sunday work, the calculator includes each entered rate. Whether premiums may be combined depends on the rules that apply to you.

How does the shift premium calculator work?

The calculator first multiplies hourly pay by total hours to estimate base pay.

Example: 160 hours × €20 hourly pay = €3,200 base pay.

For each premium, it multiplies hourly pay by eligible hours and the rate you entered.

Night-premium example: 40 night hours × €20 × 25% = €200 night premium.

Frequently asked questions about shift premiums

Are the results legally binding?

No. This is a non-binding mathematical estimate based on your entries, not payroll or legal advice.

Why can I change every percentage?

Premium rates vary by country, contract, collective agreement, industry and working time.

Does the calculator estimate take-home pay?

No. It shows a gross estimate including entered premiums; taxes and social contributions are not calculated.

Can premium-eligible hours overlap?

Yes. Entered hours are calculated by category, but your applicable rules determine whether several premiums can be paid together.

Why are there no universal premium rates?

Shift premiums differ across countries, employers, contracts, collective agreements and industries.

That is why every rate is editable: use the values from the agreement or policy relevant to your situation.

Is this a take-home pay calculator?

No. This calculator intentionally focuses on gross pay including the shift premiums you enter.

Take-home pay depends on jurisdiction, tax status, social contributions and the local tax treatment of each premium.

The calculator therefore avoids presenting a misleading universal net figure.
